Myth-Busting Burnout: Real Talk & Truth-Telling for Nonprofit Fundraisers

Time: 12:00-1:00pm

Venue: Zoom

Program Description: This session gets real about the truth of burnout! Burnout is not an individual issue; it is a systemic one. It’s an issue that cannot be solved without philanthropy. Eradicating burnout requires an entire ecosystem of leaders who care about the future of nonprofit work. In this dialogue, participants will explore the root of burnout in nonprofit development work. We’ll examine how martyrdom culture, pressure to scale, year-end urgency, and scarcity narratives intensify staff stress—especially for development teams who are expected to deliver relentlessly. Attendees will gain clarity, validation, and actionable steps to navigate burnout and advocate for themselves and their organizations in a way that supports sustainability and endurance.
