Program Description: AI has tremendous potential for nonprofits, freeing up staff time to focus on mission, and improving the quality and consistency of service. Unlike public and for-profit enterprises, nonprofits don't face commercial pressure to adopt AI, but funders are showing growing interest in supporting AI initiatives, adding a new incentive to move forward thoughtfully.

This talk draws on the real experience of a nonprofit that adopted a shared AI platform, built a governance framework around it, and is using shared context across systems to standardize documentation, guide referrals, and automate routine work like data transfer. The speaker will address the potential, the risks, and the compliance considerations involved in that adoption, drawing on lessons learned along the way.

Attendees will leave with a practical framework for evaluating where a shared AI platform can help their own organization, and what guardrails to put in place first.

Speaker Bio: Jeremy Pardoe is Director of Data Management at the Youth Job Center in Evanston, Illinois, where he designs and maintains the organization’s case management and reporting systems supporting nearly 1,000 young people each year. His work spans program tracking, employer partnerships, and information for service delivery, grant reporting, and day-to-day operations.

With more than 30 years of experience building and improving software and data workflows, Jeremy focuses on simplifying processes and reducing administrative burden, so nonprofit staff can spend more time working directly with participants, volunteers, and community partners.
